He finished graduation and post graduation from Vijayanagar institute of medical sciences, Ballari, and was fortunate to be trained as a DNB candidate and as a Fellow at the World’s best Eye Hospital , Arvind Eye Hospital, Madurai to acquire good surgical skills in ophthalmology.
He is an expert in No injection, No bandage, Sticheless Cataract surgeries (Phacoemulsification surgery). He is specialized in Multi focal and Toric IOL and also in Pediatric Cataract surgeries. He is the chief Cataract and Glaucoma Surgeon at Maruthi Eye and Dental Hospital.
Before starting his own setup at Gangavathi he served the under privileged people of North Karnataka at Lions eye Hospital, Koppal and conducted free eye camp surgeries for the poor and needy people. And also conducted school screening programmes.

Dr Parimala the Co- Founder of Maruthi Eye and Dental Hospital, is the wife of Dr Hanumanthappa and an eminient administrator to the hospital. She did her Schooling in St Marys Convent School ,Raichur, Preuniversity study at SSRG Womens college,Raichur, and BDS graduation at AME’s Dental College ,Raichur. She has been practising Dental practice in Maruthi Eye and Dental Hospital since the beggining of the hospital,from 2000. She also looks after the ophthalmology Operation theatre sterility , high quality care of operation patients and the cashless health schemes of Maruthi eye and dental Hospital.
